Job description

We are currently seeking a customer-oriented and sales-driven Retail Banker to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Retail Banker, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of banking services to individual customers, including account management, loan applications, and financial advice. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of banking products, and the ability to meet sales targets while ensuring exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with individual customers. Understand their financial needs, preferences, and goals to offer personalized banking solutions and services.
  2. Account Management: Assist customers with opening new accounts, such as savings accounts, checking accounts, and fixed deposit accounts. Process account transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
  3. Retail Banking Products: Promote and sell retail banking products and services, including loans, credit cards, insurance, and investment products. Provide guidance on product features, benefits, and eligibility criteria.
  4. Loan Applications: Assist customers in applying for personal loans, mortgages, and other retail loan products. Evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and make informed decisions based on established lending criteria.
  5. Financial Advisory: Provide basic financial advice and guidance to customers, including budgeting, savings strategies, and debt management. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling based on customers' financial needs.
  6. Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and requests. Resolve issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex cases as necessary.
  7. Compliance and Regulations: Adhere to banking regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Maintain confidentiality and handle customer information with integrity and discretion.
  8. Sales Targets: Meet individual and team sales targets for retail banking products and services. Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers and generate new business through referrals and leads.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Relevant certifications in banking or finance are advantageous.
  3. Proven experience as a Retail Banker or in a similar customer-facing role within the finance, banking, or insurance industry.
  4. Strong knowledge of retail banking products, services, and processes.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and promote banking solutions effectively.
  6. Strong sales and negotiation skills to achieve targets and generate revenue.
  7. Customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
  8. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  9. Familiarity with banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  10. Proficiency in using banking software and systems for account management and transactions.
  11. Basic knowledge of financial planning and personal finance principles.
  12. Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
