Job description

The Restaurant Supervisor at Tortilla Restaurant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves managing the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, maintaining high operational standards, and delivering a memorable dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  2. Train and mentor staff on restaurant policies, procedures, and customer service standards, ensuring consistent adherence.
  3. Monitor and evaluate customer ratings and feedback to gauge satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Encourage and motivate the team to provide excellent customer service and exceed customer expectations.
  5. Regularly inspect and replenish the food display area with fresh and visually appealing food items.
  6. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and presentation.
  7. Assist in scheduling staff, ensuring appropriate coverage during peak hours and special events while optimizing labor costs.
  8. Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing supply orders to maintain sufficient stock levels while minimizing waste.
  9. Conduct regular meetings with staff to communicate updates, provide feedback, and foster a positive and motivated work environment.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends, new menu items, promotional offers, and sales techniques to drive revenue growth.
Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role in the restaurant industry.
  2. Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage a team and oversee restaurant operations.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with staff, guests, and vendors.
  4. Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
  5. In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
  6. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  7. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations in a restaurant environment.
  8. Proficient computer skills for point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and scheduling software.
  9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  10. Knowledge of Tortilla Restaurant's menu, brand, and service standards is an advantage.
  11. Ability to lift and carry moderate weights and stand for extended periods.
