The Team
An exciting and challenging new opportunity has arisen for a talented, experienced and forward-thinking lawyer to join our growing legal team. We are looking for a highly skilled commercial lawyer with 5+ years PQE to play a vital part in our METAP legal team (Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Pakistan). This role will be based in Dubai.

The Role
Our ideal candidate brings private practice and in-house experience supporting commercial and procurement functions. It is a broad role serving a variety of stakeholders and provides an excellent opportunity to get close to TikTok's business operations in the METAP and wider AMA (Asia, Middle East and Africa) regions.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the key legal advisor and business partner to TikTok's procurement and business process outsourcing (BPO) functions across the AMA region.
- Lead negotiations with key service providers and agency partners. Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including:

1. service provider agreements and statements of work, including creative agency, production and event management agreements;
2. business process outsourcing agreements;
3. creator and influencer agreements;
4. sales contracts with media buying agencies and brands that use the TikTok platform to increase brand awareness and accelerate their performance-based advertising;
5. agreements governing creative assets provided by our in-house team, talent agreements and image releases;
6. NDAs.

- Understand advertisement standards and compliance requirements across the METAP region and advise on new laws relating to advertising, marketing and user generated content across the region.
- Have significant responsibility for knowledge management, template development (including playbooks), process improvement and training.
- Make recommendations for legal and commercial processes and initiatives that assist the business to scale.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
You will be qualified with 5+ years PQE. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified at a leading private practice law firm;
- Significant experience advising (in house and in private practice) on sales and commercial contracts;
- Worked collaboratively to develop new documentation, workflows and best practices - experience of implementing legal processes which assist a business to scale is a plus;
- An understanding of user generated content platforms and familiarity with the legal issues in this space;
- Strong commercial acumen and be comfortable taking commercial decisions and working closely with senior stakeholders;
- The ability to navigate the complexities of multiple internal and external stakeholders including our senior leadership team, with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work well in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines within short time constraints whilst maintaining the utmost attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Regional experience within METAP.
