Job description

The Regional Business Line Controller is the financial representative of the Business Line for the Region. He/she oversees project financial monitoring at bid stage project initiation and phase up to project closure through relevant analysis and ensuring regular projects reviews are undertaken. The controller will facilitate the forecasting and budgeting process on behalf of the Business Line. He/she will be monitoring business Line profitability and provide financial and analytical insights for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Viewed as a trusted business advisor he/she supports the Regional Business Line Director with key financial information and operational analytics while driving a culture of accountability in managing the business and adding value to operating businesses.

The Regional Business Line Controller will also play a pivotal role in driving financial transformation supporting the integration of finance and controlling functions and ensuring efficient financial operations in a dynamic high growth environment as the Group is implementing Oracle ERP system.

Financial supervision of big / transverse projects

  • Provide financial insight and obtain necessary Subject Matter Expert / internal advice at tendering to closing stage (tax legal guarantees review of hypothesis and price sheets proposition of contractual setup).
  • Design project structuring financial and tax strategies within the Region or with the Group to optimize benefits taking into consideration legal and tax provisions prevailing in the Region.
  • Ensure proper implementation of project structuring accurate booking of expenses and timely cash management by Regional Controllers and accountants for the project portfolio.
  • Participate or initiate whenever necessary regular projects reviews to enhance projects margins challenge any margin deterioration and ensure action plans are defined and implemented to restore/enhance margins at project completion.

Financial and Planning Analyst for the Business Line

  • Review, challenge, and validate key financial hypothesis taken by controller for regular project managed by country controllers @ closing or planning stage.
  • Drive 5 years Business Plan budget and Forecasts preparation for BL in the Region and especially analysis and forecast of non-signed projects.
  • Provide detailed monthly economic analysis and commentary on business performance compared to Budget Forecasts and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and action items.
  • Partner directly with the region and country finance team to collaborate on metrics goals and business reviews.
  • Collect information to provide monthly KPIs to the management.
  • Provide Market Risk and Business analysis by country and at region level.
  • Drive follow-up on Working Capital DSO by project country region for the business lines.
  • Control operation employees allocation and monitor the efficiency with the Billable Hours Ratio.
  • Participate in tool and process improvement.

Financial Transformation & Change Management

  • Contribute to the implementation of Oracle ERP for the Regional Controlling Community and Project Managers in the BL to ensure seamless integration and adoption.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices for enhanced financial efficiency.
  • Partner with Regional Finance Directors, Regional Business Line Controllers, Regional Tax, Country Finance Teams, and Group Business Line CFO to drive continuous improvement and transformation.
  • Liaise with country accountants and controllers to create an environment of trust and productivity. Build and lead together with other RBLCs a Regional Controlling Community.

Additional Information:

The candidate should have:

  • Five or more years of controlling experience preferably in the industry.
  • Exemplary history of financial project management.
  • Engagement skills working across a complex matrix organization.
  • Oracle / ERP / implementation experience.
  • Good understanding of tax issues for services.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in business accounting or related field.
  • This role requires a strategic leader who can balance day-to-day financial management with long-term growth initiatives collaborating closely with regional and group finance teams to optimize financial performance strengthen financial controls and support business objectives.
