Roles and responsibilities

We are currently looking for dynamic and self-motivated Recreation professionals who want to move their careers forward.
As a Recreation Attendant, you are responsible for ensuring that all health club area responsibilities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

  • Ensure swimming pools (main & children’s pool) and the complete health club area are clean at all times and report any maintenance.
  • Ensure the sun lounges are clean and free of any debris during operations.
  • Ensure the pool deck is swept and watered down and that all furniture is in the correct place when setting up in the morning.
  • Provide guest assistance on arrival to Bodylines.
  • Assist with the cleaning of all areas of the operation.
  • Assist potential new members by giving a complete tour of the facility and being fully conversant with all prices and facility details of the club.
  • Check constantly on the changing rooms and ensure that they are clear of litter, used towels, etc.
  • Report any guest complaints to Superiors immediately.
  • Observe high standards of personal hygiene.

Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should ideally have a diploma or vocational training in the sports/leisure field with preferable previous work experience within a hotel. Ability to swim is a must. Being physically fit and able to work long hours in an outside environment are essential. Good command of English and good interpersonal abilities are an advantage.
Knowledge & Competencies
The ideal candidate will be customer-driven with good guest service skills and the ability to handle complaints. You are a positive, smiley individual with a sportive, outgoing, and approachable character. You will work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and be a great team player who thrives in working with a multi-cultural team and guests alike while possessing the following additional competencies:

Desired candidate profile

  • Organizing and Leading Activities:

    • Planning, coordinating, and leading recreational activities such as water aerobics, fitness classes, arts and crafts, games, and team-building exercises.
    • Leading outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, or nature walks, depending on the location.
    • Ensuring activities are fun, engaging, and inclusive for guests of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Guest Assistance:

    • Welcoming guests and providing information about available recreational services and activities.
    • Assisting guests with setting up and using recreational equipment (e.g., sports equipment, pool floats, etc.).
    • Making personalized recommendations for activities based on guest preferences or needs.
  • Safety and Supervision:

    • Monitoring guests while they participate in activities to ensure safety, especially in high-risk environments like pools, beaches, or fitness centers.
    • Enforcing rules and regulations related to safety, conduct, and equipment usage.
    • Responding to emergencies or accidents and administering basic first aid when necessary.
  • Maintaining Recreational Areas:

    • Ensuring that recreational areas (e.g., pools, sports courts, playgrounds) are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
    • Reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department (e.g., broken equipment, safety hazards).
    • Setting up and maintaining equipment for scheduled activities.
  • Event Coordination:

    • Assisting with or coordinating special events like pool parties, holiday celebrations, and themed activities or shows.
    • Collaborating with other hotel or resort departments, such as food and beverage or housekeeping, to ensure the success of events.
  • Providing Guest Service:

    • Answering guests' questions about the resort or hotel’s recreational offerings and ensuring that they feel comfortable and entertained.
    • Going the extra mile to accommodate guests’ requests or needs during recreational activities or events.
  • Promoting Activities:

    • Actively promoting and encouraging guest participation in scheduled activities or events.
    • Distributing activity schedules and flyers to guests, either through in-room materials or at common areas like lobbies or pools.
