JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Radiology Supervisor, the role is expected to provide the highest quality radiology care to patients and clients. Responsible for supervising staff of the service area and implementing all standards of operational procedures in the area. Also responsible for maintaining high quality of service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists in the development of a strategic vision for the section/department and produce a report for the facility on the service developments and future plans.
  2. Monitors the department service areas' performance as well as staff performance.
  3. Plans and works with assigned team to provide an efficient and effective service to be involved in the proposal and implementation of department policies and the annual business plan.
  4. Participates in the initiation and implementation of department wide projects.
  5. Oversees the wastage of materials by appropriate stock rotation and by ensuring good laboratory technique by staff in the laboratories.
  6. Performs all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
  7. Evaluates and monitor images produced by subordinates.
  8. Facilitates and supervises the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department.
  9. Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment. Schedules on-site demonstrations of equipment & assists in the selection of new equipment.

Accountabilities

Handles the financial aspect of the radiology department by contributing to the annual budget review, tracking and calculating expenditures, noticing issues and troubleshooting these. Monitors and develops as necessary quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement & compliance with patient care standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Required: NLT 6 years of post-graduate experience in an acute care hospital, (of which NLT 3 years as a Deputy/Senior Radiographer OR NLT 2 years as a Head of a Radiology Department). Familiar with latest developments in modern imaging modalities with wide practical experience. UAE National: NLT 3 year's relevant experience in an acute care hospital and NLT 1 year managerial/supervisory or equivalent experience.

Educational Qualification:
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program. Two (2) years of experience post qualification in the general radiology field. Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration). Associate degree in Radiography program (minimum two (2) years course duration). And Registration/certification or accreditation as a radiographer AND Current National License.
Desired: Masters (MSc) in a related field.
