Radiation Oncologist
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations to assess their medical history, symptoms, and concerns
- Evaluate and review diagnostic tests and imaging to determine the extent and type of cancer
- Work collaboratively with other physicians and healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- Administer and monitor radiation therapy to patients in accordance with established protocols
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and ways to manage them
- Keep detailed and accurate records of patient treatments and progress
- Stay current with the latest advancements in radiation oncology and participate in professional development activities
- Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures
Qualifications And Skills
- Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine
- Board certification in Radiation Oncology
- A valid medical license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in radiation oncology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Detail-oriented and able to handle complex and sensitive information
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Compassionate and empathetic towards patients
- Willingness to adhere to ethical and professional standards
