Responsible for the daily execution of the tendering process: Reviews and analyses company risks associated with each tender, accountable for the collation and submission of the tender proposals in accordance with client Invitation to Tender (ITT) requirements.
Secures a potentially profitable work stream: Ensures that bids are prepared in a timely manner, are attractive to our customers, and meet the company's requirements.
Communicates with other departments: Ensures all documentation required is contained within the tender submission.
Prepares work to be accomplished: Gathers information and requirements, setting priorities.
Prepares construction budget: Studies plans, updates specifications, identifies and projects costs for each elevation.
Evaluates offers to purchase: Costs changes, additions, and site requirements.
Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors: Specifies materials, identifies qualified subcontractors, and negotiates price.
Maintains cost keys and price masters: Updates information.
Resolves cost discrepancies: Collects and analyses information.
Prepares draft tender documents: Ensures all systems and components of the tender are included.
Interprets & reviews system drawings: Identifies any differences to tender requirements and raises queries against specification.
Construes and follows company tendering processes: Ensures all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.
Reviews design outputs: Ensures compliance with contractual requirements.
Gathers opinions of the project team: Prepares final controlled documents of tender.
Assesses impacts due to design changes: Accounts for revision works due to client instructions.
Ensures project output meets: Requirements of codes and specifications.
Responsible for filing various tenders: Completes all the formalities.
Maintains continuity among corporate and local work teams: Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge: Attends educational workshops, reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, participates in professional societies.

Assists the Estimating Manager: In all matters relating to the financial and contractual aspects of the project during the full design stages.
Prepares BOQs and Preamble: For all types of Method of Measurement and various contract types - remeasure, LS, EPC.
Prepares BOQ: As per authority standards and liaises with designer for all inputs.
Liaises with the team: Ensures prompt submittal and completeness of BOQ and accurate estimates while maintaining quality standards.
Assists in review and negotiation: Prepares claim settlements with the client and the Engineer.
Participates in auditing: From Drawings and Manual Take Off sheets, checks and records measurements of completed work, and provides corrective actions.
Participates in evaluation: Recommends entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance.
Participates in preparation: Of all stages of estimates with all supporting documentation.
Advises QS/Estimator: On measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities.
Evaluates unit rates: For new work items and presents to the estimating manager with supporting documents.
Assists in preparation: Of variation engineering proposals & reports.
Advises on contractual matters: Related to financial issues.
Ensures completeness and validity: Of all contractual requirements.
Participates in all commercial/estimation presentations: And meetings with the client.
Maintains and streamlines: All cost and quantity records.
Evaluates unit rates: For new work items and presents to the PM.
Participates in recording details: Monitors day works recording and processing.
Prepares variation orders:
Participates in evaluation: Recommends entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance by the Operations Manager.
Advises on contractual matters: Related to financial issues.
Ensures completeness and validity: Of all contractual requirements.
Monitors contractor's resource allocation:
Prepares financial statements: For monthly reports.
Partakes in auditing: Of payments to Contractors.
Checks and records: Measurements of completed work.
Monitors contracts final cost estimates:
Participates in preparation: Of Final Account with all supporting documentation.
Attends pre-bid meetings: Conducts site visits.
Visits work order ongoing site: Prepares scope of work and accordingly prepares the BOQ to submit to the client for approval.
Maintains cost database: By entering and backing up data.
Qualifications: Bachelor's of Engineering / Master of Engineering / Diploma.
Experience: 5 to 10 years of execution works for steel construction with exposure in steel fabrication and erection works.
