Job Role: Quality Control Supervisor - Transportation Industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Quality Control Activities:
  • Lead a team of QC inspectors and technicians in monitoring transportation operations and vehicle maintenance.
  • Develop and implement inspection schedules for vehicles, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Compliance and Safety Assurance:
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards such as Department of Transportation, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Oversee compliance audits, vehicle inspections, and safety checks to minimize risks and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Vehicle Inspection:
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, including taxis, buses, or other transport assets, to check for compliance with maintenance standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the condition of key components such as brakes, tires, lights, and engines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Service Quality Monitoring:
  • Assess the quality of transportation services, including timeliness, customer service, and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Implement customer feedback mechanisms and conduct regular quality assessments to identify areas for improvement in service delivery.
  • Problem Identification and Corrective Actions:
  • Investigate quality issues, accidents, or service disruptions, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and operations staff to resolve issues promptly and prevent recurrence.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Collect and analyze quality data, including inspection results, service reports, and customer feedback.
  • Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), defect rates, compliance levels, and corrective actions taken.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve the quality of transportation services.
  • Implement best practices in quality management.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train staff, drivers, and technicians on quality standards, safety procedures, and inspection protocols.
  • Conduct regular workshops or training sessions to keep the team updated on the latest industry standards and regulations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in quality control or assurance within the transportation or logistics industry, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures, regulatory requirements (e.g., Depart of Transport regulations), and quality control methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation safety standards, fleet management systems, and service quality benchmarks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in inspections and data analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, maintenance staff, and management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, manage schedules, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment:

  • Typically operates in a combination of office settings, vehicle maintenance areas, and on-site at transportation hubs or terminals.
  • May involve fieldwork for vehicle inspections, audits, or incident investigations, often requiring travel between different locations.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Quality Manager, Fleet Manager, or Operations Manager.
  • Works closely with the maintenance team, safety officers, and transportation operations staff.

This role is vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of transportation services, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational performance. The QC Supervisor helps maintain compliance with industry regulations and drives initiatives to continuously enhance service quality.

Pay: Up to AED5,000.00 per month
