Designation: QA/QC Inspector - API Standards
Reporting to: QC/QC Manager
Job Objective: To ensure and maintain compliance as per IMS procedure, ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018, API Q1 Latest Edition, API Q2 Latest Edition, ASME U & R Certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- IMS, ASME Documentation maintenance coordinating with process owner for preparing new/revising procedures, revision control, acquire approval from relevant authority, release of documents, updating document master list & shared folder.
- Assist in internal audit and supplier audit.
- Review of Data-packages prior to release.
- Perform dimension inspection, hardness check, NDE-LPI & MPI, visual inspection, witness load/pressure test, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, final clearance, boroscope and generate reports.
- Conduct welding inspection [prior to weld, fit-up, during welding and post weld], prepare and review of welding documents like weld data sheets, weld map, welder continuity, defect ratio analysis, welder performance review and corrective actions, prepare ITP, as required by the projects. Prepare welding related validation file and keep up to date.
- Conduct inspection, prepare & review of coating inspection reports, prepare coating related validation file and keep up to date.
- Raise NCR in case of any non-conformance found during inspection and close out in a timely manner.
- Assist on data analysis, prepare reports, and submit for review monthly, quarterly & yearly as per the company policy.
- Identify the potential cause for product/process failure during project execution and report to department head.
- Active participation in contract review and ensure all customer requirements are met.
- Maintenance of QA/QC server and ensure the availability of documents as per company's retention period.
- Follow-up for internal/external audit NCR closure with all relevant departments and update weekly to department head.
- Conduct IMS awareness training procedures, corrective actions, preventive actions.
- Any other specific task assigned by department head.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Familiar with international codes/standards like ASME / API / BS / EN etc. is essential.
- Requires interpretation of machining drawing & fabrication drawings.
- Familiar with management system implementation.
- Proficient in MS Office computer packages.
Ability & Skills:
- Internal Auditor ISO 9001:2015.
- Certified welding inspector CSWIP/AWS preferable.
- Certified coating inspector BGAS/NACE preferable.
Experience: 6-10 years experience in QA-QC activities.
Academic Qualifications: Diploma in any discipline with relevant product/process experience or equivalent.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
- Ensure process control in welding and coating, improve technicians awareness and process compliance.
- Reduction of NCRs & customer complaints by taking suitable corrective actions.
- Better document control.
