Job Summary:
The Quality Analyst in the laboratory services is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance across all NMC laboratory operations. This includes monitoring and standardizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and performance optimization. The role involves overseeing the accreditation process for the NMC group's laboratories, specifically focusing on accreditation (ISO:15189, JCI) and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements. The individual will be responsible for conducting internal audits, identifying areas for improvement, and developing corrective actions to maintain optimal quality. In addition, they will collaborate with laboratory teams to support training, process improvements, and the development of best practices to uphold patient safety and laboratory excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and standardize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across laboratory operations to ensure consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and manage the accreditation process for the group's laboratories, ensuring compliance with NMC accreditation standards, local regulatory requirements, ISO 15189, and JCI.
- Conduct internal audits to assess laboratory compliance with regulatory standards and quality management systems.
- Develop and implement corrective actions for non-compliance or areas requiring improvement, ensuring timely resolution and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to provide guidance on best practices and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for regulatory and accreditation audits, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Provide training and educational support to laboratory staff to maintain high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert on quality management and regulatory matters, providing advice and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the achievement of laboratory quality goals.
- Ensure laboratories meet local and international regulatory requirements, maintaining patient safety and laboratory excellence at all times.
- Oversee the document control process to ensure all documents are current, properly managed, and that processes are standardized across the group.
- Generate monthly reports that highlight areas for improvement and provide an extent analysis to support the implementation of effective corrective and preventive measures across the NMC group.
- Support the laboratories by effectively evaluating Internal Quality Control and proficiency testing reports to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in quality assurance, or equivalent experience.
- UAE licensed as a medical laboratory technologist/technician or eligible for registration, desirable.
- Certifications in Quality Management or qualifications in Leadership, desirable.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), local regulatory standards, ISO:15189, EIAC, and JCI.
- Proficient in evaluating and interpreting Internal Quality Control (IQC) and proficiency testing data.
- Experience with managing laboratory audits and accreditation processes.
- Ability to develop, implement, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for laboratory performance.
- Proven ability to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Strong project management skills, including leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in leading laboratory teams through ISO 15189/EIAC accreditation processes.
- Have at least 5 years of experience working as a Quality Analyst or in a senior quality management role.
