We are currently recruiting for a QHSE Officer to join our team at Transguard Group in Dubai.

Scope

Responsible for developing and implementing Health & Safety Management system at Transguard worksites, ensuring compliance with International Safety Standards (ISO 45001 & 14001). This position will develop guidelines in coordination with the HSE Manager for the HSE management of operations and standards. The QHSE Officer will provide information, giving technical guidance on all Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environmental matters, identifying and advising on current and future requirements, and ensuring that systems, policies, and processes are in place to prevent incidents and support the continuing development of a HSE culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

Financial

  1. Implementation of Organizational and client HSE policy/procedures in compliance with ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015 and any other applicable HSE standards.
  2. Advise the business on health & safety matters and assist in the implementation of the health & safety management system.
  3. Conduct periodic safety inspections to identify HSE hazards at the workplace/premises and ensure these hazards are minimized by implementing adequate control measures.
  4. Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements pertaining to Health, Safety, and Environment. Manage and coordinate all HSE matters related to Business Units in compliance with HSE requirements.
  5. Carry out regular site visits to TG accommodations to ensure safety standards are implemented & practiced.
  6. Conduct building safety assessments for TG accommodations.

Customer

  1. Coordinate within business units to conduct occupational risk and opportunity/environmental aspects and impact assessments for managing HSE risks & creating opportunities for continual improvement.
  2. Work closely with TG client’s health & safety representatives to ensure TG staff are aware and following their health & safety procedures. Attend client meetings whenever required.
  3. Conduct HSE awareness training sessions to promote safety culture and arrange job-specific training for Operatives.
  4. Verify the permit to work system and implement safe systems of work for operational activities.
  5. Any other business-related tasks assigned by the line manager.

Process

  1. Prepare all necessary HSE documents as per client & legal requirements for any new sites before mobilization and ensure they are followed and regularly revised.
  2. Conduct internal audits as per schedule and attend audits with external auditors & clients whenever required.
  3. Ensure all HSE-related data is maintained on the shared folder/share point in a timely manner.

Innovation

  1. Investigate HSE incidents and noncompliance events to determine root cause and recommend remedial action to prevent reoccurrence.
  2. Ensure the tracking and maintenance of all records & documents related to HSE such as training, investigation reports, etc.

Selection Criteria

  1. 4-5 years of experience in a similar field - ideally Facilities Management.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in science, HSE or equivalent from a recognized university.
  3. Any recognized qualification in HSE such as NEBOSH IGC or NVQ.
  4. Lead/internal Auditor qualification in HSE management system (ISO 45001 / 14001).
  5. Basic First Aid and Fire Fighting training.
  6. Any internationally accredited environment certificate will be preferable.
  7. Good knowledge in implementing HSE standards including policy/procedures, ISO standards such as ISO 45001, 14001.
  8. Working knowledge of project execution and technical knowledge of safety systems such as Firefighting systems.
  9. Knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, code of practice & municipality guidelines, OSHAD or other emirates HSE regulations.
  10. Holding a valid UAE driving license.
  11. Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  12. Good report writing skills.
