QHSE Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) at Factory Level
2. Support the overall management of HSE within the factory, specifically overseeing the manufacturing of chemical injection skids, wellhead control panels and automation business.
3. Ensure compliance with JAFZA HSE regulations, legal requirements, and ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) across factory operations, focusing on worker safety and environmental sustainability.
4. Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
5. Support for Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Carbon Footprint Reduction Initiatives
6. Assist in the execution of action plans aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions within factory operations, aligning with the company's long-term goal of reducing carbon footprint by 2050.
7. Implement energy-saving and waste reduction strategies within the factory to contribute to sustainability targets.
8. Project HSE Support
9. Provide HSE support during the construction phase of new projects, ensuring sustainability and green building requirements are met in line with the company's Vision Zero initiatives.
10. Coordinate with project teams to ensure that HSE guidelines are integrated into day-to-day operations during project execution.
11. Assistance in Yearly HSE Plans and Objective Setting
12. Collaborate with the Senior Manager in developing and implementing annual HSE plans for the factory, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
13. Monitor progress on HSE tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and as per the established plan.
14. ISO Compliance Support
15. Assist in maintaining ISO certification (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018) at the factory level.
16. Prepare documentation and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
17. Ensure that corrective actions from audit findings are implemented in a timely manner.
18. Contractor and Subcontractor Compliance
19. Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors working within the factory comply with Avanceon's HSE contractual requirements.
20. Conduct periodic safety meetings with contractors to review their compliance and performance.
21. Training and Competency Management
22. Support the Senior Manager in conducting annual Training Need Analysis (TNA) for factory employees and contractors.
23. Ensure that training and competency development programs for factory workers are completed on schedule.
24. Incident Reporting and Investigation Support
25. Assist in incident reporting and participate in investigations, utilizing knowledge from HABC Level 2 Incident Investigation certification to identify root causes and corrective actions.
26. Ensure that corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences of similar incidents within the factory.
27. Policy Implementation and Continual Improvement
28. Ensure effective implementation of HSE policies and procedures within the factory, as outlined by higher management.
29. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices through active participation in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Education: BS in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
2. Certifications: IOSH Managing Safely (MS), NEBOSH Process Safety Management (PSM)/IOGC, NEBOSH JGC, Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, HABC Level 2 Certification in Incident Investigation

Experience

1. 3-5 years of experience in a relevant HSE role, ideally in UAE within a manufacturing environment, with experience in chemical injection skids or wellhead control panels being advantageous.
2. Must have UAE Driving license.

Skills

1. Strong knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001).
2. Experience with HSE risk assessments, audits and inspections
3. Good Understanding of HAZOP Process
4. Solid understanding of local and international HSE regulations.
5. Good command on current ESG Frameworks and sustainability practices
6. Excellent in conducting Incident investigation while using root cause analysis techniques (Fault Tree, Event Tree Analysis, TapRoot etc.)
7. Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
