We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QAQC Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our quality assurance and control department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our projects and processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) as per the Method Statement project specification and relevant international standards.
Review and verify/author method statements as per project specifications specific to activities and customer/consultant comments.
Oversee material submittals/sample submittals in coordination with the material engineer.
Maintain QA/QC logs and record all quality submittals with customers in coordination with the document controller.
Prepare checklists and inspection forms/formats as per site requirements in line with the client template where necessary.
Prepare training requirements, coordinate internal/external quality training, and keep the certificate records and logs up to date.
Keep all quality inspection records documented and traceable (internal and external).
Be familiar with project specifications requirements and job-related AWS, SSPC, NACE, BS, ASTM, AISC, and other relevant standards.
Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to the internal project team or subcontractors when any nonconformity is found.
Establish WPS, PQR, and Process Welder Qualifications.
Record and coordinate lessons learned, maintaining logs.
Assist the project team to develop and achieve project objectives and conduct periodic monitoring.
Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated and maintain logs.
Assist in audits as per company policy.
Coordinate and perform periodic subcontractor evaluations.
Attend monthly QHSE and progress meetings and discuss project requirements, coordination, and inspection comments.
Support the safety, health, and sustainability culture of the company.
Promote and support company policy and objectives and assist in fulfilling Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Incoming material inspection for structural steel welds, bolts, and associated materials.
Issue Material Inspection Reports (MIR) to the customer/consultant in coordination with Project Engineer (PE) / Site Engineer (SE) where required as per the Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
Coordinate third-party material inspection as per ITP and record all inspection reports.
Conduct site surveys for visual, dimensional, and job-specific requirements.
Inspect and coordinate material testing, structural steel fabrication, welding, coating, and erection processes.
Issue Requests for Inspection (RFI) for regular inspection activities to consultants/main contractors and coordinate inspections.
Conduct onsite inspections for welding, coating, bolt torque, and other related structural steel activities.
Inspection and verification of subcontractor activities.
Perform any other inspections not specified above but required by the client/customer or directed by QA/QC Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
NACE Level 2 or BGAS Level 2, or equivalent.
CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent.
4 to 10 years of experience in quality assurance and control, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
Proficiency in statistical process control techniques and quality assurance software tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Demonstrated experience in conducting audits, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in training and mentoring teams on quality processes and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and quality management software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
