Job description
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the purchasing of medical supplies, equipment, and services from initial request through delivery.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, and supply agreements with suppliers.
- Ensure that all purchases adhere to company and industry quality standards and regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and predict future supply needs.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to determine supply needs, quality, and delivery times.
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency and reduce the overall costs of procurement.
- Resolve issues related to delivered goods, including quantity discrepancies, quality issues, and late deliveries.
- Stay informed about advancements and changes in the medical supply industry.
Qualifications
- Preferred education in purchasing, supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the medical industry.
- Extensive knowledge of purchasing strategies and practices.
- Proven experience with purchase orders, vendor management, and material procurement.
- Solid understanding of medical supplies and equipment.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in relevant software, including Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical industry regulations and standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
