One of our Business Unit (Selectmarket) is looking for a Purchasing Officer responsible for sourcing and procuring products for the supermarket, ensuring stock availability, and managing supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
Identify and source products required for supermarket shelves, including fresh produce, packaged goods, and non-food items.
Responsible for placing orders based on sales, required inventory, historical data, seasonal requirements, and scheduled promotions.
Negotiate prices, maintain inventory levels, and ensure product quality while staying within budget.
Monitor and manage gross profit margins of assigned product categories to meet gross profit margin targets, including the daily review of product management report for sales trends and current margin levels.
Ensure the quality level of products is maintained, including sourcing new vendors as required and proactively looking for ways to increase sales.
Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, stock levels, and cost-saving initiatives for management review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is a plus.
4 years of experience in the UAE in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in a retail or supermarket environment.
Computer literate, proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook) and strong Excel skills.
