Reporting to: Director - Financial Control and Shared Services

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations for our diversified business portfolio, spanning Construction, Events, Soft FM, and Technology sectors. The ideal candidate will excel in managing the tendering process, driving cost optimization, and ensuring the seamless acquisition of goods and services.

This role requires strong strategic and operational expertise in procurement, with a focus on building relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and implementing best practices in purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering and Procurement Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end tendering process, including preparation, evaluation, and awarding of contracts across all business verticals.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and local regulatory requirements throughout the tendering process.
  • Conduct thorough vendor assessments, including due diligence, technical evaluation, and cost comparisons, to select reliable suppliers.

Cost Optimization and Budgeting:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement expenses without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with business units to align purchasing strategies with budgetary and operational goals.
  • Monitor market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and mitigate risks.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Act as the main point of contact for procurement-related queries and resolutions.

Process Improvement and Reporting:

  • Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize risks.
  • Implement and manage procurement systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Prepare and present procurement performance reports, including cost savings, compliance metrics, and vendor evaluations.

Category Expertise:

  • Leverage expertise in procurement for Construction, Events, Soft FM, and Technology sectors to address the unique requirements of each portfolio.
  • Ensure tailored procurement solutions are developed for each category, considering operational and technical needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent is a strong advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of procurement experience, with a proven track record in tendering, contract management, and cost optimization. Experience across Construction, Events, Soft FM, and Technology sectors is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel. Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities. A proactive and strategic mindset with a focus on results.
