Job description

About The Role
The Purchasing Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the company while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring that all procurement processes align with the organization’s needs and budget.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists the Purchasing Assistant Manager in purchasing products and services of superior quality for the hotel as per specification.
  2. Be familiar with all categories of Purchases and the use of the iscala system.
  3. Prepares comparisons on products when required and forwards to Assistant Manager, Purchasing for review.
  4. Manages and processes purchase requests on receipt ensuring competitive quotations, delivery dates, and specifications are obtained.
  5. Works in any area of the Purchasing department as necessary.
  6. Utilizes the computer at the appropriate stages of creating products, categories, and purchase orders.
  7. Maintains a good working relationship with colleagues and other departments.
  8. Maintains a high standard of personal appearance in proper uniform and hygiene.

Experience & Educational Requirements

  1. Graduate in Accounting Major or equivalent in commerce.
  2. 2-3 years experience in the same role.
  3. Service contract experience.
  4. Tendering process knowledge.
  5. Supplier sourcing experience.
  6. Leading negotiations at a senior level in a dynamic environment.
  7. Monitor vendor mergers and acquisitions.
  8. Exposure to contract negotiations.
  9. Evaluation and negotiation with suppliers.
  10. Workload planning and tender design to obtain competitive bids.
  11. Coordinating with receiving and stores section.
  12. Coordinating with end users.
  13. Initiative and commitment to achieve.
  14. Attention to detail and quality.
  15. Effective communication.
  16. Organising for results.
  17. Interpersonal ability.
  18. Excellent customer relations skills.
  19. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new relevant software applications.
  20. Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
  21. Excellent organizational skills.
  22. Problem solving and decision making.
