Job Description

  • Assist in the sourcing and procurement of materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness through thorough market research.
  • Maintain and update supplier databases, ensuring accurate contact information and performance evaluations are recorded regularly.
  • Coordinate purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, resolving any discrepancies or delays promptly.
  • Prepare detailed reports on purchasing activities and inventory levels, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Support negotiations with vendors for pricing, terms, and conditions, leveraging market insights to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering processes to prevent shortages, ensuring continuous production flow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance based on delivery, quality, and service metrics, contributing to supplier selection and retention.
  • Participate in the development of purchasing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the purchasing team, including maintaining records and filing important documentation in an organized manner.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCP) or Procurement (CPP) is a plus, showcasing commitment to professional development.
  • Experience with procurement software and ERP systems to streamline purchasing processes effectively.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in a second language being an added advantage for international dealings.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess supplier proposals and market trends, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to foster productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in order placement, invoicing, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive attitude with a problem-solving orientation, ready to tackle challenges and improve procurement processes.
