JOB PURPOSE:
- To assist the heads of Transaction Banking (TB), Client Coverage (CC) and Global Markets (GM) in Pakistan drive the implementation of SCBs new Operational Risk Framework.
- Build a strong and lasting network with senior Wholesale Banking management, and be a trusted advisor on Operational Risk matters alongside Wholesale Banking Operational Risk as 2nd line oversight.
- Align the Pakistan Operational Risk Framework (ORF) implementation to the UAE.
- Be a subject matter expert and Go-To person for the business as first line of defence on all Operational Risk roll-out matters, in conjunction with WBOR.
- Work in concert with WBOR in-country and in the region.
- Mentor the business during the ORF rollout, ensuring the tools and systems used by the business are being used effectively.
- Challenge senior management and ensure quality execution of business process reviews, ensuring that MIS being provided to Regional and Global Teams is of exceptional quality and detail.
- Ensure transparency and issue articulation by the business when issues are identified during Process reviews.
- Ensure the business heads adopt a 'best practice'.
KNOW HOW AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have Operational Risk experience.
- Candidates must have a working knowledge of TB, CC, GM.
- A broad understanding of WB core products, business network and structure.
- Background in Risk Management/Operations or Business Finance.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in networking, communication and influence are important in a multifunctional and multicultural team environment.
- Previous project management and organization skills would be an advantage.
- Excellent PC skills.
- A focused individual who is an excellent communicator with good numerical skills, who has the ability to influence others by showing initiative and creativity.
- Understand the WB regional aspirations and the strategy required to deliver these.
- Quick to recognize gaps and opportunities that would improve operating procedures, people development, risk management and infrastructure.
