Job description

Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Description:

  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring that all phases are executed on time, within scope, and budget, while adapting to any changes in project dynamics.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders, ensuring that project updates, deadlines, and expectations are clearly conveyed and understood across all levels.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively by implementing effective contingency plans, ensuring the project remains on track despite potential obstacles.
  • Manage resource allocation efficiently, balancing workloads to optimize team performance and avoid burnout while meeting project demands.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and celebrate milestones, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Analyze project performance data post-completion, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in future operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining quality assurance protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a liaison between teams, clients, and vendors to negotiate contract terms, manage expectations, and facilitate a smooth workflow.

Execution Phase:

  • Conduct resource planning to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with management on subcontractor selection and planning.
  • Obtain and review quotations from subcontractors.
  • Negotiate and finalize commercial terms with subcontractors.
  • Assist QS in preparing subcontract agreements and ensure subcontractor sign-off.
  • Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely deployment and performance.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of available resources.

Manpower Management:

  • Lead manpower management, including recruitment, training, and successful retention.

Revenue and Cash Flow:

  • Demonstrate strong business acumen.
  • Follow up with clients for timely payments.
  • Ensure monthly revenue aligns with business plans.

Desired Candidate Profile:

This is a leadership role where the individual is expected to be actively involved and accountable for every phase of the business, ensuring successful operations while independently following up on projects, clients, and new business opportunities. The role requires implementing automation for all business processes, maintaining direct day-to-day involvement in execution, fostering client relationships, and managing subcontractors effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from initiation to closure, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a knack for navigating challenges and turning obstacles into opportunities.
