Al Rostamani Pegel is a main contractor in the UAE Construction Industry and has to its credit timely and successful construction of several multipurpose projects including high rise buildings, villas, hotels, hospitals, and industrial facilities.
Job Purpose
Ensures execution of project on time, within budget, and in accordance with the specifications and regulatory requirements. Provides project leadership and motivates and builds a unified project team (includes all stakeholders).
Job Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, and manages project development from beginning to end. Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Defines project tasks & resource requirements. Develops full-scale project plans.
- Ensures all project-related operational and administrative processes are followed/implemented on project.
- Produces monthly performance report and introduces appropriate remedial measures on a monthly basis.
- Provides timely technical information and documentation to enable the department to call for bids. Provides delivery dates/subcontract award dates to ensure these are finalized in accordance with the planned project construction program schedule as applicable.
- Monitors, manages, and coordinates all subcontractors and suppliers to ensure all planned dates are met and the works are executed as contracted.
- Ensures his project team is fully up to date on the project requirements prior to commencing work and during work progress.
- Reviews with the site staff, including the Planning Engineer, the detailed programs to ensure practical execution of the project (2 month lookahead and contract programmes).
- Ensures that the quality of materials and the installation of work are in accordance with the criteria identified for the project.
- Ensures execution of works according to approved procedures and method statements.
- Attends along with the required site staff any major project or kickoff meetings with Client/Consultant subcontractors and suppliers whenever presence is required.
- Critically reviews operational practices, identifies areas of obstruction/quality failures & advises on system & process changes for qualitative improvement & builds in control systems to avoid recurrence.
- Coordinates with all relevant departments (i.e. Estimation, Planning, Contract, Commercial) as and when necessary.
- Initiates variations/claims and follows up actions including supervision of submittals and negotiations.
- Ensures compilation and submission of all necessary progress reports.
- Ensures timely preparation and submittal of as-built drawings, guarantees operation and maintenance manuals (O & M), and all certificates as required for the completion of the project.
- Handles all project correspondence and ensures necessary actions are taken and inputs are taken from Commercial and Legal department as mandated.
- Maintains relationships with Inter Departments, Consultants, Clients, Neighbouring plot owners, Statutory Authorities, Sub Contractors/Supply Chain at higher level.
- Ensures that the company’s Management Systems (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems etc.) are implemented, complied with, and maintained across all project activities.
- Provides feedback, review & comment on cost estimates, tender method statements & plans from estimation dept. prior to tender submission as requested by Operations Manager.
- Evaluates & reevaluates subcontractors/supply chain.
- Teaches, mentors, and trains the staff under his management.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- DM (Dubai Municipality) certified for a Contractor Unlimited Floors.
Experience:
- With 10-15 years of relevant experience in the construction/contracting industry.
Knowledge & Skills:
- With management-related training/qualifications, preferably with PMP qualification.
- With proven track record in handling projects high rise (like hotels, residential/commercial).
- Project management skills in construction.
- Knowledge of QHSE systems/practices for construction industry.
- Knowledge of FEDIC.
- Exceptions to the specifications may be considered at management discretion depending on candidates overall potential and proven track record.
