We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning / Cost Engineer to join our team in Al Ain. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing project planning, cost estimation, and control for large-scale construction and engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules using advanced project management software
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects at various stages of development
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance
- Analyze project costs and variances, providing regular reports to management
- Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed
- Collaborate with project teams to optimize resource allocation and improve efficiency
- Perform earned value analysis and forecast project performance
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment between plans and actual progress
- Develop and maintain cost databases and historical records for future reference
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and cost engineering, preferably in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with cost estimation software
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Experience with risk analysis tools and techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional certifications such as PMP or CCP are preferred
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project lifecycle management
- Expertise in cost control, budgeting, schedule development, and risk assessment
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Familiarity with local construction practices and regulations in the UAE is a plus
