Job Description

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Ensure project scope, timelines, and quality requirements are met.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to prevent project delays and cost overruns.

Technical Oversight & Compliance:

  • Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of power systems (generation, substations, transmission, and distribution networks).
  • Review and approve technical drawings, electrical designs, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, DEWA, or local regulations).
  • Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and government authorities.
  • Evaluate and select vendors for materials and equipment procurement.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among teams and contractors.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track project progress using MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools.
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders, highlighting milestones, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and technical records.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in power plant, substations, transmission, or distribution projects.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CEM, or relevant power sector qualifications) are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, grid operations, and renewable energy integration.
  • Proficiency in power system design, load flow analysis, and protection coordination.
  • Familiarity with ETAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.).
