JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: PROJECT ENGINEER

2. Liaison with Client and internal departments for work follow-up.

JOB SUMMARY (Major functions of the position)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning and implementation of projects
2. Maintain control on costs, quality, and timelines
3. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
4. Define project tasks and resource requirements
5. Develop full-scale project plans
6. Assemble and coordinate project staff
7. Manage project budget, resource allocation, schedules, and quality assurance
8. Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
9. Provide direction and support to project team and monitor/report on progress of the project to all stakeholders

Project/Site Related:

1. Responsible for raising inspections at Site like WIR (Work Inspection Report) and MIR (Material Inspection Report) and getting it approved from the Consultant.
2. Maintain site E.H.S. procedures and policies.
3. Ensure accurate setting out of works in accordance with contract drawings or approved shop drawings.
4. Organize operations with Engineers and Supervisors.
5. Liaise with General Foreman and Junior Engineer in respect of field problems, technical matters, and site safety.
6. Initiation of Technical queries and managing Verbal Instructions.
7. Ensure preparation of Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plan as the work schedule requires and ensure matters of site safety are incorporated as a priority or KPI.
8. Provide technical assistance and technical supervision.
9. Progress measurement and reporting.
10. Monitor the work and report the progress and any occurrences which might create a delay or variation in the specified work.
11. Liaison with client site staff.
12. Oversee the material testing activities.
13. Manage site interfaces
14. Prepare as-built information to suit contract requirements.
15. Ensure supervisors implement Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plan as the work progresses.
16. Ensure works are in accordance with QC procedures/ITPs to ensure defects revealed are resolved.
17. Provide reporting to Senior Management regularly regarding all aspects of the project.
18. Advise all about the project quality assurance and quality control aspects and interface problems that affect the disciplined operation of the project.
19. Site survey and troubleshooting handling queries from Production departments.
20. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the project and common objectives.
21. Coordinate with Production team and ensure that Material is being prepared and delivered to Site as per priority.
22. Regularly keep Production team updated on Site Schedule & Activities through email, WhatsApp, and other forms of communication.
23. Act as a Liaison between Site and Project Team.
24. Daily meeting with Main Contractor Project Managers and team to update on project progress and inquiring if any urgent work or execution is required.
25. Handling Consultants and seeking MIR/WIR in time to ensure all Payment certificates are prepared with full works approval.
26. Daily emailing project report to management and keeping them updated on Site progress issues and requirements.
27. Handling Multiple projects as and when required by the management.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Engineering

Desired Professional / Exposure or Experience: 5 years in the construction field
