Job description
  1. Acts as the Company representative with the Client and Subcontractors.
  2. Set a positive example of the company, through "Values and Behaviors" and be a role model to the team to ensure these are embedded throughout the project.
  3. Establish project requirements for all areas of the project and monitor and control adherence to these requirements.
  4. Ensure appropriate facilities are provided to employees and workers.
  5. Accountable for the completion and handing over of the completed works to the Client.
  6. Manage the construction team.
  7. Manage commercial aspects and changes to project cost or schedule.
  8. Support subcontractors and vendors by removing impediments to progress and ensuring that they have the materials, designs, tools, resources, and approvals to complete their activities within the required time frames.
  9. Lead the overall planning, coordination, and execution of rail civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
  10. Develop and implement project management plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resource management.
  11. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment of project objectives and expectations.
  12. Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  13. Monitor project progress and performance against established metrics and KPIs, identifying and addressing issues and risks in a proactive manner.
  14. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies and procedures.
  15. Manage contractual agreements and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and equitable.
  16. Conduct periodic internal quality audits as required according to the quality management system.
  17. Manage the staff mobilization plan and staff training plan.
  18. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery processes, enhance efficiency, and maximize profitability.
  19. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship throughout all project activities, promoting a zero-incident mindset.
  20. Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  21. Lead the management of the design work and construction activities during the project, completing it within the planned program and budgeted costs.
  22. Monitor construction progress, oversee finance, and ensure project quality.
  23. Make strategic decisions and provide leadership and direction to project managers and construction managers to implement those decisions.
  24. Conduct meetings with Client, Engineer/PMC, and stakeholders to report on project progress.
  25. Liaise with clients and build strong working relationships.
  26. Manage project risks and implement a risk mitigation plan.
  27. Communicate with the Client’s representatives continuously regarding project progress and other areas of concern.
  28. Devise cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion.
  29. Ensure permits are secured according to plan.
  30. Manage project managers and enable them to supervise and manage the works.
