Job Overview:

The Project Director for a large FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) project will lead and manage the overall project execution, ensuring the successful delivery of the project in accordance with the client’s expectations, contractual terms, budget, and schedule. This role is critical to ensuring safety, quality, and fostering a positive and collaborative work culture among the FEED team and leadership. The Project Director will be responsible for driving the project to meet key milestones while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement, effective communication, and team alignment.

Role Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Execution:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of the FEED project, ensuring the project is completed safely, within budget, on time, and meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual terms, client specifications, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Provide strategic direction for project execution, aligning with the client’s business objectives and project goals.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Maintain and promote KBR’s values.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture within the FEED team, driving effective collaboration across departments and ensuring clear lines of communication.
  • Lead the leadership team to encourage and develop talent, ensuring effective delegation and providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Promote an open and transparent environment that encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure that all team members understand and are committed to the project’s vision, goals, and values.
  • Oversee resource management, ensuring the allocation and utilization of resources align with project requirements and organizational goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the project team, capturing and implementing lessons learned and best practices.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Champion safety initiatives within the team to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Establish and enforce quality control processes, ensuring high-quality deliverables at each project phase.
  • Ensure that safety and environmental standards are a top priority in all project activities.

Budget and Schedule Management:

  • Oversee and manage project schedules, ensuring the timely execution of key deliverables.
  • Ensure that the project remains within budget, managing costs effectively and identifying potential risks or financial challenges early.
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments to maintain momentum, ensuring alignment with milestones and timelines.
  • Effectively manage project change by working with the project team to identify and quantify the team and then to negotiate the change with the client.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and challenges to minimize disruptions.
  • Lead risk management strategies, ensuring any issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that may arise between clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, maintaining a focus on project goals.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with project progress, quality, and communication.
  • Prepare and present project updates, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Address client concerns and feedback promptly, ensuring their requirements are met and their expectations are managed.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in the management of engineering and procurement projects.
  • Must have strong knowledge of major capital offshore projects.
  • Proven project experience with ADNOC and projects in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, principles, and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering positive team dynamics.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost management, and scheduling for large-scale projects.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance, with experience in enforcing safety practices in complex projects.
  • Ability to effectively manage client relationships and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Experiences, Qualifications Requirements:

A bachelor's degree, Master’s degree OR Equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Proven experience (10+ years) in leading large-scale FEED projects, ideally in the offshore oil & gas, energy sectors. Overall experience of a minimum twenty (20+) years involved in FEED/Detailed Design of offshore/onshore Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Projects. Must have previous ADNOC experience.
