Location: Dubai, UAE
The Project Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of large and complex projects, ensuring that all objectives scope, quality, time, and cost are met. This role includes managing both internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic guidance to the project team, and ensuring alignment with the client’s goals. The Project Director will oversee the coordination of design teams, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective project execution and maintaining high standards of quality, performance, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  1. Degree / Diploma in Business Administration or Construction Management.
  2. Minimum 15 years of experience in Project Management for large-scale projects, preferably in the Middle East.
  3. Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Projects.
  4. Knowledge of Primavera P6 is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategic Oversight:

  1. Lead and manage multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring that project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
  2. Provide strategic direction and decision-making in all aspects of project delivery.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, senior stakeholders, and the internal project team, maintaining clear communication and alignment.
  4. Develop and implement project strategies, ensuring they are aligned with client requirements, organizational goals, and industry best practices.

Project Planning & Execution:

  1. Oversee the development of detailed project execution plans, including defining scope, roles and responsibilities, schedules, and quality standards.
  2. Monitor and review project plans, ensuring resources are allocated effectively across disciplines.
  3. Ensure project risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated proactively, with contingency plans in place.
  4. Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

  1. Provide leadership to project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  2. Oversee coordination among internal teams (design, engineering, construction, etc.) and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, regulatory bodies).
  3. Facilitate regular team meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and make adjustments as needed.
  4. Mentor and support the development of project managers, coordinators, and other team members.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their expectations are managed and met throughout the project.
  3. Ensure client satisfaction by addressing issues, concerns, and changes promptly, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  4. Regularly update clients on project progress, risks, and key decisions.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  1. Ensure that all project deliverables are reviewed for completeness, compliance, quality, and competitiveness.
  2. Monitor the design process to ensure that it adheres to best practices, codes, standards, and client specifications.
  3. Implement and enforce quality assurance and control processes to ensure that design and construction documentation meet the highest standards.
  4. Oversee the preparation and submission of design documentation and construction bids, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

Contract & Financial Management:

  1. Oversee the administration of project contracts, ensuring that all contracts are executed efficiently and in compliance with agreed terms.
  2. Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial performance is aligned with the agreed financial targets and KPIs.
  3. Ensure timely invoicing, payment approvals, and financial tracking, working closely with the commercial team to identify and manage project variations, claims, and change orders.
  4. Provide regular financial reporting and forecasts to senior management, identifying potential risks to budget and suggesting corrective actions.

Project Monitoring & Reporting:

  1. Ensure the accurate and timely monitoring of project progress, including tracking schedules, milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators.
  2. Provide senior management with regular project updates, ensuring any risks or issues are flagged and addressed promptly.
