Job Description

Dutco Construction Group started operations in the United Arab Emirates in the 1970s. The Group comprises of the following Companies:

3. DBB Contracting LLC - Leading Civils & MEP Contractor.
4. Dutco Construction LLC - Leading Building Contractor.

We employ more than 10,000 people, making us one of the largest construction companies in the region with an extensive track record in large-scale projects including power stations, reservoirs, hotels, airport infrastructure, and port development.

Dutco Construction are looking to recruit an experienced Project Commercial Manager to work on MEP Projects across Residential/Villas and Retail Sectors. Projects are valued between AED 300m to 400m.

Duties

We require an experienced Project Commercial Manager who has worked on similarly valued Projects for Tier 1/Tier 2 MEP Contractors. Duties will include:

1. Responsible for liaising closely with the Project Manager on all commercial matters to jointly obtain maximum commercial benefit from a project.
2. Coordinate with civil architectural/structural drawings and other MEP services and provide input to produce detailed Variations/Additional Works.
3. Understand the Construction Programme and provide sufficient/supporting feedback/input to the project planner to prepare the construction Programme considering cost-effective solutions to permanent works, and efficient management of resources in line with the conditions of contract.
4. Analyse and highlight variance between tender design and contract, assisting the Engineers and generating new ideas for implementation to resolve technical/commercial issues to ensure a cost-effective, timely, and successful completion of the project.
5. Produce monthly operating statements by prescribed dates, discussing the commercial implications with the Project Manager and ensuring there is an understanding of the commercial position of the Project.
6. Undertake re-measurement and prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts. Interim accounts shall also be discussed with the Project Manager to allow engineering staff input.
7. Be aware of the financial stability of any overseas suppliers prior to placing orders and understand exchange rates.
8. Submit monthly payment applications by the end of each month, expedite the issue of payment certificates, monitor payments, and chase cash.
9. Coordinate the preparation of enquiries, bid tabs, negotiations, and requisitions (based on quantities provided by Site Engineers) which will be prepared/carried out by the Project Quantity Surveyor in liaison with the Project Manager and monitor the purchasing.
10. Monitor production outputs and advise the Project Manager in relation to yields on allowances.

Desired Candidate Profile

UAE/MOFA Attested bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum 15+ years work experience as Project Commercial Manager in MEP Projects preferably from a Tier 1 / Tier 2 MEP Contracting Company. Projects worked on, as Project Commercial Manager should be in excess of AED 400m, managing significantly large packages and scope of works.
