The role? Responsible for project accounting duties including (but not restricted to) monthly accounting entries, reporting (quarterly and monthly), budgeting & forecasting, and supporting multiple projects.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas
Responsible for all aspects of project accounting and ensuring projects operate with an appropriate and effective set of financial controls.
Timely and accurate preparation of business line accounting entries and reports in line with monthly and quarterly project timetables.
In depth review of Profit & Loss and liaising with project managers.
Assisting business lines with forecasting updates and variance analysis.
Capture and safeguard project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
Close working with assigned business line to assist with management and reduction of WIP, Accrued Income, Aged Debt and other KPI's.
Communicate and support internal and external payroll functions.
Ad-hoc duties as required by AMEC Financial Controller.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in a project or management accountant role in a medium-sized business.
Wide knowledge of practical daily operations of an accounting team.
Experience working with integrated ERP business management systems.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
Prior experience of project accounting.
5 years relevant finance & accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and entries.
Prior experience in a multi-national company.
