Programme Manager (Anti-Corruption & Diversity)

The Pearl Initiative (PI) is looking for a dynamic Programmes Manager (Anti-Corruption & Diversity) to join its growing team and fast-paced environment. The Programme Manager will lead the design and delivery of these programmes within the business ecosystem across the Gulf region.

As per PI’s Vision 2025, the Anti-Corruption Best Practices Programme will aim to raise awareness on the business case for corporate integrity and transparency, facilitate the creation of an action-oriented regional Integrity Taskforce and engage future business leaders through targeted interventions to promote business ethics.

The Diversity in Business Leadership Programme will aim to highlight the importance of managing diversity in the workplace and raise awareness of how D&I are pillars of effective corporate governance.

About Anti-Corruption Best Practices & Diversity in Business Leadership programme

The Anti-Corruption Best Practices Programme was instrumental in allowing PI to build, nurture and grow a network of committed private sector professionals and organisations that accept, adopt, and promote integrity-related practices in their workplace and on a regional level. This programme provided meaningful impact to the ecosystem; building a trusted community of business professionals in the Gulf Region who exemplify high integrity standards.

The Diversity in Business Leadership programme is focused on managing diversity in the workplace and raise awareness of how D&I are pillars of effective corporate governance through various convenings, trainings and research.

Who PI is looking for

The ideal candidate should have a very strong interest in topics around business integrity, corporate ethics, diversity, anti-corruption, and corporate governance. The Programme Manager will be responsible for delivering programme across 4 key activity pillars: applied research, convenings, training and capacity-building, and student engagement. This includes developing and executing regular trainings and workshops on compliance and ethical business for senior and compliance managers in private sector organisations across the Gulf.

The Programme Manager will report to the CEO and is also expected to contribute to PI’s overall programme development and contribute to and/or manage special projects outside the programme-specific scope of their responsibilities as needed. The Programmes Manager will also supervise a Programmes Associate and together, work as a team to ensure the achievement of programmatic objectives.

The Programme Manager should have the ability to professionally engage and work with key PI stakeholders in various settings, including corporate business leaders, peer organisations, and other key stakeholders across the Gulf Region (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, UAE).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Development & Technical Knowledge on Anti-Corruption & Diversity Programmes:

1. Proactively engages in technical practice and subject matter expertise on the specific topics and areas of focus within anti-corruption, integrity, etc., sharing information and best practices learned as part of PI’s impact reporting.
2. Lead the day-to-day development and delivery of programme plans for the Anti-Corruption & Diversity Programmes, in collaboration with the CEO and with the support of the Programme Associate(s).
3. Proactively identifies issues or potential risks, including project performance, financial, and legal, and other core business areas. Develops strategies and solutions to address those risks.
4. Manage relationships with leaders in the private sector and their teams to understand current trends, opportunities and challenges.
5. Build networks of participants and companies from the private sector to take the lead on the conversation around business ethics.
6. Engage with business leaders, government representatives and students across the Gulf region and build a local community that is developing and sharing anti-corruption and diversity practices.

New Business Development:

1. Promote PI’s programmes by identifying opportunities for and attending external events, networking with clients and counterparts.
2. Take initiative to support new business efforts for the Anti-Corruption & Diversity programmes, including growing PI’s network of industry contacts and leading on proposal and concept note development.

Knowledge Creation

1. Write articles, thought leadership pieces and progress summaries for publications and other external resources where applicable.
2. Summarise and disseminate the latest thinking and analysis from around the Gulf region in the areas of transparency, accountability and business practices.

Management and Leadership

1. Supervise, mentor, train, develop, and evaluate assigned staff; provide regular performance feedback to supervisees.
2. Demonstrate inclusive behaviors and leadership consistent with PI’s values and leadership competencies.

Essential Professional Experience/Skills & Qualifications

1. A University degree / Master's degree preferred.
2. Five or more years’ experience in anti-corruption & diversity related initiatives in the Gulf region.
3. Excellent writing skills and a proven ability to draft proposals, reports, research results or other organisational documents with minimal supervision.
4. Fluent in English, including perfect ability to write content in clear, structured and compelling English.
5. Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and preferred experience in managing training programmes in Arabic.
6. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
