We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Supervisor cum Production Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all production activities within our cable tray manufacturing facility. This role involves supervising production teams, ensuring the smooth execution of production schedules, managing material inventory, ensuring product quality, and liaising with different departments to meet client deadlines and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, production coordination experience, and a solid understanding of the cable tray manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Supervision:
- Manage Production Teams: Supervise daily activities of the production workforce to ensure that production targets, schedules, and quality standards are met.
- Staff Coordination: Lead and motivate production staff, ensuring effective teamwork and a positive working environment. Provide direction and guidance to workers on the shop floor.
- Workforce Scheduling: Coordinate labor resources based on production requirements, ensuring the right staff are assigned to meet daily or weekly production goals.
- Training and Development: Provide training on production processes, machinery, safety procedures, and product specifications. Ensure all new hires are properly onboarded.
Production Coordination:
- Production Planning: Coordinate production schedules in collaboration with the production manager, ensuring deadlines are met and orders are processed efficiently.
- Monitor Production Flow: Ensure the smooth and timely production of cable trays, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring all manufacturing processes (cutting, bending, welding, assembly, finishing) are executed efficiently.
- Resource Management: Oversee the availability and utilization of materials, tools, and machinery required for production. Monitor raw material usage and manage inventory to avoid production downtime.
- Problem-Solving: Address any production bottlenecks, equipment failures, or staff issues that may arise during production. Take corrective actions as needed to keep operations on track.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure Quality Standards: Oversee the implementation of quality control measures to ensure that all cable tray systems meet industry standards and customer specifications. Monitor each production step for compliance with quality standards.
- Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they conform to design specifications, measurements, and material standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that the production area adheres to safety guidelines and that all workers follow established safety procedures. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
Inventory and Material Management:
- Inventory Oversight: Track raw material consumption and maintain an adequate supply of materials. Work with the procurement department to ensure timely procurement of materials and avoid production delays.
- Material Handling: Supervise the handling of materials and ensure proper storage to prevent damage or wastage. Ensure that materials are correctly allocated to production orders.
- Bill of Materials (BOM): Collaborate with engineers and project managers to prepare and verify BOMs (Bill of Materials) for production, ensuring that required materials are available and accurately documented.
Communication & Reporting:
- Cross-Department Communication: Act as the liaison between production and other departments (engineering, procurement, logistics, etc.) to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of products.
- Production Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including output levels, downtime, quality issues, and material usage. Provide regular status reports to management regarding production performance.
- Customer Coordination: Assist the project management team in managing customer expectations and requirements related to production schedules, delivery timelines, and quality.
Maintenance & Equipment Management:
- Machine Maintenance: Monitor the performance of production machinery and equipment. Ensure that routine maintenance schedules are followed and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Preventive Maintenance: Ensure regular preventive maintenance is performed on production machines and tools to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
- Process Optimization: Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Implement lean manufacturing techniques where applicable.
- Feedback Loop: Collect feedback from production teams, maintenance personnel, and quality control to improve workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in manufacturing, industrial management, or related fields are a plus.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Production Management.
Experience:
- Minimum: 3-5 years of experience in a production environment, ideally within the cable tray or similar metal fabrication industries.
- Supervisory Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role, overseeing production teams and coordinating daily manufacturing activities.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with cable tray manufacturing processes (e.g., cutting, bending, welding, assembly, finishing) and materials (steel, aluminum, PVC, etc.).
- ERP & Production Software: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) or production management software is preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Factory or production floor, with occasional visits to other departments or project sites.
- Hours: Standard working hours, with the possibility of overtime depending on production schedules and project deadlines.
