Production Supervisor

• Assisting Production Manager in planning and organizing the shift employees in achieving daily production targets.
• Monitor and ensure that all personnel adhere to work instructions and procedures.
• Assist in production process for different processing lines of meat & seafood.
• Increase employee morale and handle queries of shift workers and requests related to personal health matters, accommodation, and yearly leave requests.
• Ensure processing staff adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor attendance and employee time management, ensuring weekly timesheets are correct.
• Participate in the maintenance of operational controls and compliance with HACCP audit and regulatory guidelines for all activities.
• Ensure customer service levels by producing quality products within the agreed timeframes.
• Coordinate with Quality Team to ensure customer complaints are investigated and corrective action is completed.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Team to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out on all equipment and that operators have the necessary training regarding preventative maintenance and operations.
• Perform any other assignments as required by the Production Manager.

People Management

• Ensure employee development through training, mentoring, and providing skills development.

• Overseeing Production Operations

  • Supervising Daily Production: Ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently by overseeing daily operations, including staffing, workflow, and production schedules.
  • Managing Production Schedules: Ensuring that production goals are met within the scheduled timeframes, adjusting schedules based on machine downtime, staffing issues, or delays in material supply.
  • Coordinating Production Resources: Ensuring that necessary materials, equipment, and personnel are available for production, collaborating with other departments like logistics, procurement, and maintenance.

• Team Management

  • Staff Supervision: Leading a team of operators, technicians, and workers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Ensuring that team members are adequately trained to perform their duties safely and effectively through on-the-job training, skills development, and cross-training.
  • Performance Management: Monitoring team performance and providing feedback, addressing performance issues, ensuring employee accountability, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.

• Quality Control and Standards Compliance

  • Ensuring Product Quality: Monitoring production output to ensure products meet quality standards through inspections, tests, and checks during the production process.
  • Identifying and Resolving Issues: Quickly addressing production issues such as defects, equipment malfunctions, or process inefficiencies that could affect the quality of the final product.
  • Adhering to Regulations: Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies, including proper documentation and adherence to safety procedures.

• Health and Safety

  • Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Overseeing the safety of the production floor by ensuring that safety protocols and procedures are followed, conducting regular safety checks, and ensuring that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used.
  • Conducting Safety Training: Regularly updating employees on safety guidelines and ensuring that safety equipment is maintained, implementing emergency procedures, and ensuring readiness in case of accidents or incidents.

• Production Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records of production activities, including production output, downtime, defects, and maintenance schedules for tracking performance and ensuring transparency.
  • Reporting to Management: Providing regular updates to senior management on production goals, performance, challenges, and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for operational changes.

• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

  • Addressing Production Delays: Identifying and resolving issues that cause delays in the production process, such as machine breakdowns, material shortages, or staffing problems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implementing lean manufacturing techniques and other continuous improvement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

• Equipment and Maintenance Coordination

  • Overseeing Equipment: Ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and scheduling maintenance or repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Collaborating with the maintenance team to schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for production equipment.
