Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Planning and Scheduling
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
    • Allocate resources (manpower, materials, and machinery) effectively to optimize productivity.
    • Coordinate with sales, procurement, and logistics teams for seamless operations.
  2. Process Optimization
    • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Implement lean manufacturing practices and maintain a focus on cost reduction.
  3. Quality Control
    • Establish quality standards and ensure adherence throughout the production cycle.
    • Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective measures.
    • Oversee testing and inspection of raw materials and finished products.
  4. Team Management
    • Lead and manage the production team, including operators, technicians, and supervisors.
    • Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and ensure safety compliance.
    • Motivate and manage staff to meet production goals.
  5. Equipment and Maintenance
    • Monitor the condition of machinery and equipment, ensuring proper functioning.
    • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Research and recommend new technologies to improve production.
  6. Compliance and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits.
  7. Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
    • Coordinate with procurement to avoid material shortages or overstocking.
  8. Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate production reports to track efficiency, output, and costs.
    • Use data to identify trends, improve processes, and plan future production.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Educational Background
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
    • Additional certifications in Production Management are advantageous.
  2. Experience
    • 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the packaging or paper products sector.
    • Proven experience in managing teams and production processes.
  3. Skills
    • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
    • Proficiency in production management software (e.g., ERP).
    • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with safety and quality standards (ISO, GMP).
