Production Manager

One of the lead companies in their field is now looking for a key individual as a Production Manager.

We are seeking an experienced production manager to manage the production department and report to the operations manager. The production manager will be responsible for production management and supervising the team, CAD personnel, and all operatives within the factory.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in running a production line within a building, steel, and/or relevant materials environment.

It is important that the right candidate can demonstrate their experience in managing a multi-disciplined production line and have hands-on experience of implementing new practices, managing the process, and understanding the requirements of labor as well as suppliers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership for their team of management and operatives.
• Coordinate projects to ensure production is completed properly and on schedule.
• Manage the daily process within the production line and continually innovate with new ideas to improve quality.
• Maintain a daily labor plan that involves peak production schedules and shifts.
• Build up a labor recruitment process.
• Monitor the cost-effectiveness of each project and maintain a good cost control process.
• Identify and implement training programs that can improve the quality of the operatives.
• Work with all project managers to deliver their individual projects to a high specification.
• Manage resources both internal and external.
• Arrange outside contracts with suppliers and additional staff where required.
• Identify key suppliers with the commercial manager and maintain a robust list of key suppliers.
• Continually identify new materials that can improve the quality of the company's work as well as enhance profitability.
• Produce a set of KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of the production team and assign goals to each member.
• Introduce a quality assurance program across the production process.
• Ensure that we meet our sustainable targets in all areas of production.
• Follow all regulations related to each project and ensure compliance.
• Mitigate risk to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 10-12 years of operational experience running a production line within a factory environment (steel, wood, etc. NOT FMCG or food).
• Experience managing, designing, and implementing multiple projects.
• Experience in managing a team of multi-disciplined managers and operatives.
