Our client, a well-established UK industrial group is opening a new industrial facility in Abu Dhabi by end of 2013. We are looking to recruit a production Manager to plan, organise and control resources/activities in Production and liaise with transport to meet the required delivery schedules in line with customer expectations and budget.
This individual should have experience of managing people in a multicultural production environment for a minimum of 4 years.
A candidate who can identify strengths and weaknesses in a production environment, highly self-motivated with a drive to succeed. Outstanding communication skills is also key, as well as being comfortable working with shifts.
Has been successful in achieving and managing Key Performance Indicators along the following lines:
- Profit and Loss (P&L), which includes:
- PPOH
- Cost control (wages and material usage)
- Health and Safety
- Quality and Housekeeping
- HR policies, procedures and communication
The production manager will be reporting to Factory Manager and manage supervisors, operators and shift Engineers.
Main responsibilities and duties will be as follows:

- Manage your team in accordance with the ‘Dream Way’
- Deputise for the Factory Manager, when required
- Maintain a positive attitude with a good work ethic, attendance and respectfulness
- Maintain ISO9002 production procedures, the correction of non-conformity and all other duties outlined in Procedures Manual
- Manage and oversee machine repair/PPM (Preventative Planned Maintenance)
- Liaise with Transport Manager to optimise delivery schedules
- Manage Production resources to meet daily Production and Delivery targets through:
- Shift and holiday planning
- Staff re-organisation/recruitment
- Proactively assess daily work schedules/requirements, utilising to the full resources available to ensure deliveries are on time, to the desired quality and work is processed efficiently
- Maintain a high personal presence on the shop floor to relieve bottlenecks by:
- re-allocation of staff
- personal job involvement
- Make visible quality and productivity checks
- Recruitment and selection of all production staff in conjunction with Factory Manager
- Ensure that Induction, Job Training, record keeping and appraisals are all carried out
- Conform with Health & Safety Procedures
- Ensure, maintain and improve staff communications – to include regular team meetings/briefings
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of all relevant internal and external procedures and IT systems
- Ensure that Hygiene Procedures are being followed and standards met
- Maintain a clean and safe Production area
- Maintain security procedures
- Be available for emergency call outs within rota system
- Collect necessary statistics for the weekly/monthly calculation
