Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

Work with operational leads across the business and supply chain to drive improvements in people and processes to avoid surplus or deficit of supplies, in order to meet the operation requirements without hindrance and to maintain the wellbeing and basic needs of personnel.

Control the daily sea freight activities within Abu Dhabi and all the company operating areas. Ensure to maintain all necessary statistics records and prepare reports for the section. Arrange and ensure the availability of supply vessels for the transportation of materials from Abu Dhabi to all Production offshore installations (Zakum, Umm Al Lulu, Umm Al Dalkh, Umm Shaif, NASR, ABK & Production Islands) while ensuring timely shipment of required materials without compromising on safety.

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Act as a planning expert responsible for ensuring safety, environment, and regulatory concerns are addressed, and compliances are maintained for all logistics planning processes.
  • Monitor Logistics Planning performance and KPIs, continuously strive for operational enhancement, identify and analyze gaps, and execute action plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Efficiently manage all major project materials movement for production complexes, barges, and islands.
  • Direct the shipment of all production materials, spares, and consumables to offshore sites.
  • Liaise with involved operations parties to ensure vessel performance meets or exceeds requirements.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend appropriate actions to ensure and maintain operation requirements, as well as vessel availability ratio.
  • Continuously monitor team activity to identify weak links and address them with necessary motivation and training as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monitor production operation forecasts to ensure availability of supporting manpower and assets by drafting development plans.
  • Monitor Barge Move Bar Chart and coordinate with Fleet Operations Team to ensure the availability of suitable AHTS to support Production barge movements.
  • Monitor Offshore Production forecasts to plan accordingly and assign suitable vessels to support long-term and short-term operations.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Operations Team to schedule the release of vessels for maintenance and repairs (in case of breakdowns) while ensuring adequate quantities of available fleet to support the 24/7 shipping and supply operations.
  • Significantly control the Shutdown Times and ensure not to exceed the agreed 0.4 monthly percentage.
  • Constantly coordinate and align with Shipping Team and Offshore Site End Users to ensure smooth 24/7 operations.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  • Accurately estimate the amount of provisions to be sent offshore on a periodic basis to avoid surplus of supply (avoiding waste and decreasing cost) and to avoid a deficit in order to maintain the wellbeing and basic needs of personnel.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, marine operation, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in logistics and shipping/sea freight supply related to the Oil & Gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant Oil & Gas business planning, supply planning, and core marine processes, in addition to relevant regulations with sound knowledge in Oil & Gas production operations.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience/background in offshore production operations.
