We are recruiting for our client operating in the Oil and Gas sector in Madagascar, a Production Director. This is an on-site position with an expatriation contract.

Missions:

Strategic Planning and Execution

• Develop and implement subsurface strategies for appraisal and development projects.
• Design work programs, plan budgets, and draft formal proposals for various activities.
• Direct technical and operational programs.

Team Leadership and Management

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary subsurface team (geoscientists, reservoir engineers, well engineers, etc.).
• Motivate, develop, and manage subsurface staff.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.

Technical Expertise

• Develop and maintain reservoir models and forecasts.
• Conduct technical evaluations of reserves and fluid distributions.
• Prepare reservoir development plans and capital cost forecasts.
• Build dynamic reservoir simulation models and conduct reservoir simulation history matching.

Project Management

• Ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
• Manage budgets and ensure compliance with governing agreements.
• Identify and mitigate subsurface risks.

Data Management and Analysis

• Ensure the quality of data acquisition and processing.
• Analyze and interpret subsurface data to support decision-making.

Communication and Reporting

• Present conclusions and recommendations to senior management and partners.
• Prepare reserve reports and support audit requirements.
• Communicate performance status, expected revisions, opportunities, and threats to production and reserves.

Profile

• Education: Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas companies in a senior production or operational role.
• Proven track record in Heavy Oil exploration, development, and production (mandatory).
• Experience in managing large-scale production operations and optimizing field performance.
• Strong experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, including geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and well engineers.
• Proficiency in English (French is a plus).
