Job Summary:
The Product Manager – Turbofans will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of propulsion products, from concept to production and post-sale support. This role plays a key part in defining the product strategy, managing the development of new products, and collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with customer requirements, industry regulations, and financial goals of the company. The Product Manager must possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of propulsion technologies, and the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the full lifecycle of propulsion products, from concept development to market introduction and production support.
- Develop and execute the product strategy for new propulsion systems, including pricing, distribution, and marketing strategies.
- Define product requirements in close collaboration with engineering and operational teams, including R&D and manufacturing.
• Cross-functional Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and sales teams to ensure the effective execution of projects and product launches.
- Coordinate activities between engineering, manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure alignment with schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies for introducing new products and promoting propulsion systems.
• Product Development, Testing, and Validation:
- Create product development plans that include technical specifications, timelines, and financial goals.
- Oversee the testing of new products and prototypes to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and market needs.
- Coordinate activities related to the certification, validation, and accreditation of new products, working with regulatory bodies such as EASA, FAA, etc.
• Monitoring and Product Lifecycle Performance:
- Monitor the performance of products after market introduction, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain product quality and meet customer expectations.
- Manage product financial performance, including profitability, and take actions to optimize costs and maximize profits.
- Conduct market analysis and competitor research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities for product development.
• Customer and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, gathering feedback on products and identifying market needs.
- Present product development results, resolve technical challenges, and provide project updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in customer meetings, product presentations, industry trade shows, and conferences to promote new technological developments within the company.
• Program Management and Adherence to Requirements:
- Define project schedules, budgets, and scope, monitor progress, and manage risks associated with product development.
- Lead product development projects, ensuring adherence to technical, regulatory, and budgetary requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges associated with aircraft propulsion systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in product development management within the aerospace or related industry, specifically in propulsion systems.
- Experience in managing product development projects, including product launches, customer requirements, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with the complete product development lifecycle, including design, validation, certification, and production.
- Experience with propulsion system integration, testing, and certification processes for both military and civilian applications.
