Product Manager

This Technical Product Owner sits in the Aquire to Pay value stream and is accountable for Strategic Pricing, Demand Forecasting, Revenue Optimization, Ancillaries & Network Planning Systems and other emerging technologies across Offer Management Portfolio. While accountable for agile development, much of the development work is waterfall and should be managed accordingly.

This role reports to the Senior Portfolio Manager, Offer Systems. The Technical Product Owner is responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process from defining desirable, feasible, viable and sustainable products to launching them and ensuring they continuously meet customers’ needs. This role will own the strategy, vision and roadmap for products within the value stream. They will support the Release Train Engineers in delivering value to customers.

This role will have a customer-centric mindset and act as the internal representative of the customer throughout the product lifecycle. They will leverage market and customer research to continuously understand market and customer needs.

Accountabilities

1. Responsible for working with the business to develop and communicate the strategy, vision and roadmap for products and ensure the entire team understands how features will be developed over time.
2. Work with the Solution Architect and Software Engineers to define and maintain the Non-Functional Requirements to ensure the product meets quality standards.
3. Support the flow of work through the portfolio Kanban and into the product backlog.
4. Work with the Product Owner to reprioritize the backlog based on business and customer needs.
5. Present the vision of the product during the Program Increment Planning session along with the proposed features and any upcoming milestones.
6. Participate in the daily scrums, sprint planning meetings and sprint reviews and retrospectives.
7. Work with the Solution Architects to understand the scope of upcoming enabler work and to sequence the architectural runway that will enable new business functionality.
8. Facilitate regular system demos, ensuring the most critical aspects are shown to the stakeholders for review and approval.
9. Support in measuring the product success, including adoption, customer insights and feedback.
10. Continuously look to enhance the product and identify future features.
11. Responsible for regular progress updates, managing dependencies, risks and issues, escalating to the Senior Product Manager and Release Train Engineer where required.

Education & Experience

1. 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner designing and launching high quality software products. Airline industry experience is preferred.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent is mandatory.
3. Certified Product Manager (CPM), Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPM) or equivalent is desirable.
4. Experience with Agile development methodologies including SAFe, Scrum and Lean.
5. Portfolio Management is desirable.
6. Demonstrated success in defining, delivering and launching products.
7. Experience defining vision and strategy for a technical product.
8. Experience of the full product cycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements and driving prioritization.
9. Experience in making data-informed decisions (user testing, competitors and marketing analysis, defining metrics) and analytic tools (e.g., ZenzTech, Google Analytics).
10. Experience in using design thinking tools, including personas, empathy maps, journey maps and story maps is desirable.
11. Customer-centric mindset with experience of placing the customer at the centre of every decision.
12. Recognized as an active team player, with excellent communication and coordination skills as this role requires working with multiple teams across the organization.
13. Sound Experience / Knowledge in Amadeus PSS Platform, PROS O&D System, Airline Pricing tools, Merchandizing & Ancillary Capabilities and Network Planning / Codeshare Systems.
