As Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for research, development, and launch of a new product line for the company. This requires keen attention to competitors' activities and customer needs, ability to develop prototypes and manufacturing processes, fill the product gaps, and oversee development of advertising & marketing communications to meet product objectives. This extends from inception to launch of new product line - including sourcing of raw material and components.
Main Job Responsibilities
Manage the entire life cycle of the product from Strategic Planning to Development and Launch.
Conduct a proper market survey, competitor analysis, customer segmentation, etc. to appropriately identify product gaps and requirements.
Determine the targets for development and launch of new perfumery products.
Act as a key point of contact for fragrance issues, evaluate fragrance stability of new products, issue Fragrance Rework briefs as necessary, to support ongoing project.
Estimate the likely selling price and set target production costs; assess likely actual costs of development and production, allowing for contingencies.
Allocate appropriate resources for new fragrances & actively participate in reviews with fragrance houses and other external partners to identify fragrance innovation opportunities.
Independently correspond with bottle designers and manufacturers of components of spray & allied products.
Evaluate designs for spray bottles including packaging.
Evaluate technical & commercial aspects, negotiate terms & conditions including prices with suppliers of various components.
Responsible for all supporting fragrance development initiatives including product write-up, sampling vehicles and brochure, sales and activation supporting material.
Coordinate with management and submit the required documents & product specification for the registration of products and product certificates.
Administer all projects and ensure completion within required timeframe.
