Job Title: Senior Product Designer
Duration: 1-year extendable contract
Location: Dubai, UAE

Organization Unit Purpose:
The goal of the Design office is to enable the organization to become the world’s most human-centric bank where customers & business partners can pursue and achieve their goals through exceptionally designed experiences.

Job Purpose:
The candidate will be part of the Design team within the Digital Office organization. In this position, he/she is responsible for designing Digital Experiences and flows based on Design best practices, patterns, and principles. He/she will create all visual components as part of the digital experience with a superb aesthetic sense and lead all aspects of the look and feel of mockups and creative concepts. Collaboration with a team of multidisciplinary designers, researchers, technologists, and business partners is essential.

Job Content:

Creative Leadership
  • Lead the overall look and feel of a product, taking ownership in creative executions, deriving the brand personality, and ensuring product alignment to the head of design's vision.
Product Design
  • Create wireframes based on requirements.
  • In collaboration with Designers, Researchers, and UI engineers, co-create UX within Agile delivery mode.
  • Lead workshops with various stakeholders to clarify and refine requirements for design decisions.
Planning
  • Estimate efforts based on requirements.
  • Plan design workstreams for user experience and information architecture by studying content concepts, strategy, and target audience; envisioning architectural hierarchies, patterns, features, and functionality.
Assessment
  • Lead discussions to convert feature-oriented requirements into design backlog items.
  • Conduct user testing activities to learn and refine user needs, preferences, objectives, and vocabulary, including card-sorting activities, treejack testing, focus groups, and other techniques as required.
  • Assess existing digital experiences in terms of UX consistency, information architecture, navigation, and classification effectiveness.
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other designers and business stakeholders in shaping digital experiences.
  • Co-create digital experiences with the support of other designers.
  • Support designers in the handover to front-end engineers.
Communication and Feedback
  • Communicate and articulate design decisions.
  • Pay attention to visual details and organization.
  • Collaborate with Front-end engineers, taking and providing comments, and integrate those comments into the designs.
  • Interact with business analysts and the product owner for business requirements gathering, communicate designs, and support the business in expressing product specifications from a design perspective.
  • Be able to take constructive criticism and adjust designs accordingly.

Education:

  • Holding a degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, or similar.
  • Graduate degree a plus; MSc/MA will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Design Thinking, creative outputs, and industry-standard software & prototyping tools.
  • Foundation of hands-on, applicable experience in UX/UI or related domains.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in the Banking or Financial industry is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the GCC region is considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Human Centered Design Practices.
  • Designing for Native app UI.
  • Designing for web.
