Job Description
The Product Applications Specialist plays a critical role providing technical support to the sales team, consolidating business retention while supporting profitable business expansion mainly in the CPI but also in the HPI space.
The Product Applications communication skills will be critical when it comes to collaborating with, and sometimes influencing, the sales team to ensure we're pursuing the right business to keep us moving forward.
The Product Applications Specialist works together with the European and Global team to define market needs and evaluate new product introductions to fulfill regional needs.
Provide technical support for the commercial sales team in Hydrocarbon Process Industry (HPI), mainly Chemical and Petrochemical Industry (CPI), and Acid Gas Treatment for The Middle East Region and eventually for all Europe; including traveling during the work week to carry out field support on the production side.
Understanding of our process chemicals, equipment, and service offerings. Understand individual customer concerns, develop corrective action plans, and communicate to the commercial team. Interact directly with customer management through clear communication internally and externally.
Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization. Work within Product Applications and Sales team to conduct technical audits in existing accounts and survey prospect accounts.
Provide technical troubleshooting and equipment inspection support at key CPI / HPI accounts within the region.
Articulate the differentiable aspects of Veolia WTS chemical treatment and services programs vs. the competition to customers within the region, including participating in technical seminars and presentations at specific customer sites.
Communicate technical accomplishments through internal and external publications, presentations, and patents that are closely reviewed. Serve as a transition resource for new business acquisitions.
Qualifications
Have a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree (chemistry).
Have knowledge in Chemical and Petrochemical Industry (CPI) and Hydrocarbon Process Industry (HPI).
Data analysis and statistical bases using Excel or Google Sheets.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft tools and/or corresponding Google tools.
Experience in writing standard documents (including technical reports and technical proposals).
Analytical skills and ability to perform standard methods for chemical analysis.
Be able to work with and understand process documentation PFDs, P&IDs, PDSs, H&M balances.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20 - 40% of the time, including international travels.
Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring the use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and other similar irritants typical of those found in refineries, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required.
High energy and detail-oriented with creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with remote cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
Self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, confident enough to work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates listening, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in 1-on-1 and small group settings; learns from team/group processes.
Driving license.
