Our client is one of the largest master event planners in the UAE, Qatar, and KSA. They have successfully delivered some of the region's most prestigious sporting events, ceremonies, cultural events, activations, exhibitions, and large-scale builds.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our client's Dubai office. The ideal candidate will have experience in the events and exhibitions industry, with a strong understanding of sourcing, vendor negotiations, and supply chain management for event-related materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to source materials, equipment, and services required for events and exhibitions.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality sourcing.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to maximize cost savings while ensuring timely deliveries.
- Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.
- Budget & Cost Control: Work closely with project teams to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize procurement spend.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with local regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Inventory & Logistics: Oversee inventory levels, manage material logistics, and coordinate deliveries to event venues as per project timelines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, operations, and logistics teams to align procurement efforts with event requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 4-6 years of procurement experience, preferably within the events, exhibitions, or live entertainment industry.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Supplier Network: Strong connections with event suppliers, fabricators, AV & technical equipment providers, and contractors in the region.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines.
- Tech Proficiency: Experience with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for cost control and efficiency.
