Procurement Manager (Buyer)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Procurement Manager to lead and oversee all procurement activities for Orbitworks, a satellite integrator based in Abu Dhabi. This is a pivotal role that will directly impact the success of our operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The right candidate for this role will be hungry to be a critical contributor in taking our organization from 0 to 1.

What you'll be doing:

• Strategic Sourcing
• Develop and execute appropriate procurement strategies that align with the company’s objectives and long-term ambitions
• Select and manage suppliers and vendors for both hard and soft services, as well as non-flight items
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to optimize performance and cost
• Contract Negotiation and Management
• Negotiate terms to secure favorable prices and delivery terms
• Manage contract creation, execution, and follow-up to safeguard the company’s interests and minimize risks
• Monitor and evaluate contract performance, initiating corrective actions when necessary
• Facility Maintenance and Operations Procurement
• Manage procurement for all services needed for facility upkeep (facility management, security, cleaning, landscaping, repairs)
• Oversee acquisition of non-flight items like office supplies, IT equipment, and production support materials
• Handle procurement of essential services, including contractor management and logistics like transport or customs brokering
• Procurement Process Optimization
• Enhance procurement procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Employ advanced procurement tools and technology for better process management
• Enforce stringent procurement controls and compliance standards
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement team

Must Haves:

• 8+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
• A strong track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
• Strong understanding of procurement practices, principles, and applications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines

Nice to Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or related field.
