Job description
Responsibilities:
Understand the current procurement process and recommend new and improved ways to source vendors and optimise purchase function.
Handle the Nontrade (Indirect) purchasing function.
Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for purchasing in the business.
Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures across all our offices.
Maintain business relationships with vendors while continually scouting for additional vendors.
Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.
Communicate with management regularly regarding vendors, procurement strategies, conducting cost benefit analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement.
Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
Work closely with the company legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favourable to the organisation.
Set up preferred vendors in the various purchasing categories after management approval. Monitor preferred vendors periodically.
Stay up to date on industry trends.
Maintain up to date purchasing records and reports for management, including a close track on product warranties.
Maintain records to show the benefits generated from centralised purchasing function and evaluate vendor performances regularly.
Handle the sourcing and purchasing function, working closely with all the various stakeholders and reporting into the head of department (HOD).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management or business administration.
7-10 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an MNC with experience in IT and AV equipment purchasing.
Excellent communication with proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience managing vendors and being a collaborative team player.
Ability to consolidate and analyse data, draw conclusions, and clearly communicate recommended solutions.
Good knowledge of procurement strategies, tactics, negotiation, and contracting skills.
Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
High potential self-starter, self-motivated, disciplined, focused, and able to prioritize work.
Advanced PC skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus purchasing ERP experience.
