Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle from identifying material needs to supplier selection, contract negotiations, and order fulfillment.
  2. Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring optimal cost savings, product quality, and supply chain reliability.
  3. Lead procurement efforts for key categories including construction materials, plumbing, electrical supplies, safety products, and tools, managing both local and international suppliers.
  4. Monitor and analyze market trends to make informed decisions about pricing, product quality, and availability.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities align with business needs.
  6. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost-effectiveness, delivery timelines, and compliance with regulations.
  7. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring favorable conditions for the company while maintaining strong relationships.
  8. Monitor supplier performance regularly, ensuring they meet quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost requirements.
  9. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of supplier performance, including quality control, risk management, and performance audits.
  10. Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly to avoid supply chain disruptions.
  11. Oversee and manage the import and export of materials, ensuring compliance with international regulations, tariffs, and customs processes.
  12. Coordinate with logistics and customs teams to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials across borders.
  13. Ensure that all materials procured are accurately documented and tracked through the import/export process.
  14. Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring that spending is within approved limits and that procurement strategies lead to cost savings.
  15. Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and supplier reliability.
  16. Analyze procurement data and reporting to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  17. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
  18. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in procurement processes, including health and safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
  19. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global trade regulations and compliance requirements, including tariffs and import/export restrictions.
  20. Provide regular procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), cost-saving initiatives, supplier performance, and market trends.
  21. Conduct procurement market analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  22. Prepare and maintain procurement-related documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.
  23. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement specialists, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to meet departmental goals.
  24. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, with at least 2 years in a similar role in construction materials, industrial products, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing procurement of diverse product categories (tiles & sanitary ware, paints, tools, safety products, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of international procurement processes, import/export logistics, and customs compliance.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid UAE Driving License.
