Job Description

As the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of fresh produce and perishable goods from global markets. You will lead the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management processes, ensuring that our e-commerce platform continues to offer the freshest products at competitive prices. This role requires extensive experience in international supplier management, global market trends, and the importation of fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables, and cheese. The ideal candidate will be well-traveled with a deep understanding of global supply chains and logistics.

• Global Sourcing: Develop and implement a procurement strategy focused on sourcing high-quality fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and cheese, from international suppliers.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, ensuring reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness in the procurement process.
• E-Commerce Integration: Collaborate with the e-commerce team to ensure that the procurement strategy aligns with online retail operations, supporting timely and efficient delivery to customers.
• Market Expertise: Stay ahead of global market trends, including seasonal availability and price fluctuations, to optimize procurement decisions and maintain competitive pricing.
• Freight Consolidation: Oversee and optimize the freight consolidation process to reduce shipping costs and improve the efficiency of international shipments, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining product integrity.
• Import Management: Oversee the importation process, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, timely delivery, and the maintenance of product quality throughout the supply chain.
• Travel and Networking: Frequently travel to source new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and attend industry events, ensuring that Kibsons remains at the forefront of global procurement practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is preferred.
• 20-25 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on fresh produce or perishable goods.
• Proven experience in managing international suppliers and a deep understanding of global market dynamics.
• Extensive travel experience and a strong global network within the fresh produce industry.
• Expertise in e-commerce procurement and the integration of supply chain operations with online retail platforms.
• Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms in high-value contracts.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations, import processes, and logistics management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
