Procurement Engineer (Electrical)

• Responsible for the procurement of electrical equipment, including transformers, motors, distribution equipment, control cabinets, and cables, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Prepare and manage tender documents, technical specifications, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations for electrical equipment, ensuring all procurement activities align with company standards and industry regulations.
• Conduct market research to analyze suppliers’ technical and commercial capabilities, optimize the supply chain, and reduce procurement costs.
• Coordinate with project teams and suppliers to track manufacturing progress, quality inspections, testing, and delivery of equipment, ensuring they meet engineering requirements.
• Participate in supplier qualification assessments and regularly evaluate supplier performance, including quality, service, delivery, and reliability.
• Manage procurement documentation and records, ensuring data accuracy and traceability, and prepare reports for internal reviews.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related engineering fields.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical equipment procurement, at least 3+ years of experience in procurement of ADNOC project related equipment and material with prior UAE procurement experience in pipeline and piping systems preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with international standards for electrical equipment and systems, such as IEC, IEEE, API; knowledge of transformers, distribution systems, motors, and cables and electrical equipment.
• Project Management: Ability to effectively manage multiple resources to ensure timely completion of procurement activities.
• Supplier Management: Skills in supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship management; well-versed in supply chain management processes.
• Communication and Coordination: Strong communication skills and team collaboration abilities, with the capability to work cross-departmentally to drive procurement processes.
• Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English, capable of conducting technical and commercial discussions.
