Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive MEP Procurement Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction and infrastructure projects. This includes sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to ensure that all MEP components are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management: Manage the procurement of MEP materials and services, ensuring that the quality, cost, and timeline requirements are met. Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), analyze supplier quotations, and make recommendations based on cost-effectiveness and performance. Establish relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and quality standards. Ensure timely and efficient delivery of MEP materials and equipment to the project site.
Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate and select vendors and suppliers for MEP materials and services, considering cost, quality, and reliability. Develop and maintain a database of reliable suppliers. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and project specifications.
Cost Control: Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for MEP procurement activities. Track and report on procurement-related expenses and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Contract Management: Coordinate with legal teams to finalize purchase orders and contracts with suppliers. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and follow up on any discrepancies.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, including contracts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules. Prepare regular procurement reports for management, including budget analysis and procurement status updates.
Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with the engineering, project management, and construction teams to understand project requirements and procurement needs. Coordinate with logistics to manage the delivery and storage of materials.
Quality Control: Ensure that all procured MEP materials and equipment meet project specifications and quality standards. Perform inspections and audits of materials and supplies, as required.
